Who We Are & What We Do
Pack Mule Express was started because of a need that was not being met. The term, “Necessity is the mother of invention” was never more true for me. My missionary was serving in Argentina and after opening his call, we discovered that he could not receive packages because of the unreliability of the postal service and delivery services like UPS or Fedex are not available in Argentina. It was heartbreaking to us because packages from home are often the pick-me-up that missionaries need. No more packages for birthdays, milestone in the mission, or just random care packages to send a little love to my son who was so far away.
As luck would have it, a friend of ours was going down to Argentina for business and he agreed to take a few things for my son. Since I served in the same mission that my son in now serving in some thirty years ago, I have several trusted contacts still down there and they were more than happy to help me get those things to my missionary. A continued conversation happened with my friends in Argentina at the same time I was conversing with one of my mission companions who is also my best friend. It was almost like I was being hit over the head with this opportunity and yet I resisted the urge to take it to the next level. I realized that I could travel down there just like my friend did and I could take packages with me and securely get them to the mission offices because of my life long trusted contacts that live in Argentina helping me. I did not want to believe that this was actually something I could make happen and I was content with letting it die on the vine with all the other great ideas I have had throughout my life. Luckily my friends did not let it die that easily and deep down I knew that selfishly I wanted to make this happen so that I could continue getting packages to my missionary in Argentina.
My best friend and I easily realized that with our contacts, our ability to speak the language and the need I had to get packages to my son, our idea was gaining traction and taking on a life of it’s own. Soon after this realization, Pack Mule Express was born and the rest is happy history!
